15th Oct Lab
It was a very interesting lab last week. We spent almost 3 hours to build the Teacloud website.
Although it was my 3rd day class on that week, I usually felt tired, website building was in fact quite interesting. I wasn't feel sleepy at all, but also very up-to-it. I wish we had more time so to get into the software deeper.
Thank you Jenny.

Assignment 1 - Internet Marketing
I think Cathay Pacific Blog and Sasa.com are effective used of Internet Marketing.
As for Cathay Pacific Blog, the benefit of its interactivity and two way communication is big. Customers can quickly and easily give feedback on the products and services and/or marketing approach. It can also give you a friendly and open environment to share opinions. Cathay Pacific Blog is also a great place to refer potential investors to, to show them what the company is about, what it has achieved and what it can achieve in future. You can also subscribe to its RSS feed, to receive headlines of its new and updated content without you having to go back to their site.
As for Sasa.com, its pull marketing, personalization or one-to-one, greater hold on user's interest and measurable and trackable are wonderful. There is no more turning customers away when its time to close shop, putting up a note saying "closed for public holiday". Also, it has allowed businesses to break through the geographical barriers and become accessible, virtually, from any country in the world by a potential customer that has Internet access. It is far more convenient for a person to research a product on the Internet.

Comparison on SAP and OpenBravo
Both of SAP and OpenBravo are Enterprise Resource Planning software which helps organizations improve business performance, maximize operational efficiency as well as enable revenue growth. They provide WEP based integrated business software to most small and midsize enterprises (SME). WEP based business management software provides real-time information so better control operation, reply and decision can be made faster.
However, OpenBravo seems to be a bit more powerful as SAP can be offer to enterprises in certain countries only. OpenBravo supports companies all over the world, it does not only support SME, but also large companies.
As per SAP, it clearly shows there are main 3 packages, SAP Business One, Business ByDesign and Business All-in-One with prices on the webpage. These information helps SME to carry out initiative budgeting before making any formal enquires. As for OpenBravo, since QuickStart, SMB and Enterprise Edition are shown on their website, only general information provided. It doesn’t even shows the prices differences. SME may find it difficult to pre-budgeting the software by just searching on the website.
As far as my understanding of ERP, I think a firm shouldn’t implement enterprise resource planning software when it is a new company. I think it is better to implement the ERP when it has had time to mature. When a company start running, it is better to put most affords on getting more profit and build up all the networks for future business. Beside, both of the above mentioned ERP do not take long to be implemented. Also, as long as the company business becomes matured, it may not have clear picture on where need to be strongly focused. Thus, the ERP software may be wrongly address at the beginning.

3rd week
Today is the 3rd week of IT in Marketing. Today is the first time to have the class in a computer room, lab. The feel is fresh as well as the airflow here. It is cold in the room. Why the temperature is that hard to control to make a comfortable environment? It is cold to have the air conditioner on, however we all feel trap when it is off. It happens in most of other rooms. What's a waste of energy!

Let's start~~
Hello Jenny, hello everyone,
Cheers!
It was nice meeting you on last Thu 10th Sept. I hope we could have a wonderful time together in these coming few months.
We had our first lesson under trophical cyclone warning no.3, hope the wind can blow away all the cloud on our head and have a clear mind all along the course.
Jenny, it was a surprise that you used English as the channel in the lesson. I am a bit curious about your backgroud. Would you mind telling us a bit more about your backgroud?
See you all again next Thursday!
